Ovidius University of Constanta is the largest public university on Romania's Black Sea coast. It is a multidisciplinary institution, strong in medicine, marine sciences, biology and philology, and takes its name from the Roman poet Ovid, who was once exiled to Tomis, present-day Constanta.
