After months of snow, low temperatures and wind, it is time to start thinking about the way you want to spend summer holiday. If the beach is what you dream about, you can choose from isolated to crowded, mountains surrounded or striking colored ones.

Red Beach – Santorini, Greece

This beautiful place was named the Number 1 most spectacular getaway on earth on Travel Channel’s 101 Sand’n’Surf Hot Spots. Santorini’s Island Red Beach was also called the Best unusual beach, all because of its black volcanic sands and of its striking crimson rocks.

Rabbit Beach – Lampedusa, Italy

Rabbit Beach on Lampedusa Island is closer to North Africa than it is to Europe. This is why people say it doesn’t resemble so much an Italian traditional place. This spectacular place is 45 minutes flight or 9 hours ferry ride from Sicily. The best temperature is from May to October.

Iztuzu Beach – Dalyan, Turkey

İztuzu Beach is a 4.5 km long sandline near Dalyan, in the Province of Muğla, southwestern Turkey. This sandline is narrow, forming a natural barrier between the fresh water delta of the Dalyan river and the Mediterranean Sea. It is well known for its sea turtles, being also called Turtle Beach.

Playa de Ses Illetes – Formentera, Spain

This little paradise is located in the Mediterranean Sea, more exactly on Formentera Island. It is close to the popular Ibiza and it’s usually becoming very crowded on summer afternoons. The best time to visit is from June to October.

Elafonissi Beach – Elafonissi, Greece

Elafonissi can be found off the southwestern coast of Crete. It is a natural look and has clear water and pink sand to offer. The best temperatures on the island are from the end of May until the beginning of October.
